1100 lbs Dinosaur Bone Unearthed in France ...
Paleontologists have unearthed a 140-million-year-old dinosaur bone, 6.5 feet in length, weighing 1,100 pounds in France. The thigh bone was discovered in Charente, an area that dates back 140 million years and has been a treasure trove for archaeologists in the past.
“This is a major discovery,” Ronan Allain, a paleontologist at the National History Museum of Paris said in an interview with Reuters. “I was especially amazed by the state of preservation of that femur.”

Vladimir Putin has made the unlikely move of expressing “his desire” to reinstate the Russian royal family, leading commentators to suggest that Putin wants a Russian version of Kate Middleton, whose star quality and mass appeal he can exploit for his own Machiavellian means.
The Express reports that Putin’s lawmaker, Vladimir Petrov, has written directly to heirs of the Romanov dynasty, who lorded over Russia for 200 years.The Romanov’s rule came to an end when Tsar Nicholas was forced to abdicate due to years of injustice and the mounting pressures of World War I.
I suppose that whole 80 years Russian Revolution was just a hiccup -- bygones be will be bygones, even for former KGB agents of the far removed Soviet Union? Time to dust off the Romanov Dynasty...
U.S. State Department bringing deadly Ebola to the U.S.
Fear over Ebola is growing as international leaders and health organizations struggle to try to stop the deadly epidemic in West Africa.
The Ebola outbreak “is moving faster than our efforts to control it,” Margaret Chan, director-general of the World Health Organization, said in a statement Friday. “This is an unprecedented outbreak accompanied by unprecedented challenges. And these challenges are extraordinary.”
This is the first Ebola outbreak in West Africa and involves the most deadly strain in the Ebola virus family, Chan said.
“If the situation continues to deteriorate, the consequences can be catastrophic in terms of lost lives but also severe socioeconomic disruption and a high risk of spread to other countries.” One of those countries could be the United States, health officials have said.
The U.S. Department of State announced Friday that it is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to bring home two U.S. citizens who have been infected by Ebola in Liberia. More World Health Organization warn virus could spread to other countries; ‘Catastrophic’ loss of life.

Islamic State Tells Shopkeepers: Mannequins must wear Veils
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) told shopkeepers in Mosul the mannequins must wear veils.
The veil is in accordance with Sharia law since “the human form is not depicted in statues or artwork.” Both gender of mannequins are to wear the veil.
ISIS expelled all Christians from the historic city over the weekend after the people were told to convert to Islam, pay a tax, or die.
The majority of Christians left with only the clothes on their back, and ISIS marked homes with an “N” for Nazarene. ISIS is also cutting off water supplies to Christian and Kurd communities they do not control.

Weird New Mexico: Naked intruder fell asleep in couple's bed
A New Mexico man faces charges after authorities say a couple found him naked and sleeping in their bed.
Investigators say 30-year-old Freddy Shelby of Albuquerque was arrested Sunday after the homeowners called police to report their unwanted mystery guest.
According to a criminal complaint, Shelby broke into the couple's home through a window and grabbed a Sprite from the refrigerator before falling asleep in the master bedroom. Authorities say the homeowners found a disrobed Shelby in a deep sleep.
Officers arrived and called to the man, but he slept through it. Authorities say Shelby woke up only after an officer ripped the blankets off him.
Shelby told officers he thought he was at his girlfriend's house.

Mail mystery: US Postal Service Still Trying To Deliver Letter Sent In 1945
In 1945, a letter was addressed to a western Michigan couple and mailed from a sergeant at an Army base in New York State.
It apparently never reached "Mr. and Mrs. Sensabaugh" on Washington Avenue in Muskegon and — nearly 70 years later — postal officials are hoping to find relatives to deliver the letter to, The Muskegon Chronicle reported (http://bit.ly/1jI2ez1).
Sgt. Myron C. Cook's name was listed as the sender. Somehow the letter made its way Minnesota, where it was placed back in the mail, Rowe said.
A 2013 postmark from Minneapolis was stamped over the original 1945 postmark. "We think somebody put it back into the mail stream," he said.
A mail carrier, who also served in the Persian Gulf War, later saw the letter and its old postmark and saved it from the ordinary "dead mail" pile, Rowe added.

Strange Crime -- Detroit: Soccer Player Punches Ref Out Cold
A strange crime from the beloved, king city of weird: Detroit.
It seems a Detroit-area soccer player is facing a felony assault charge for allegedly punching a referee during an adult-league match, critically injuring him.
Baseel Abdul-Amir Saad unched the unnamed referee in the head after the referee indicated he planned to eject the 36-year-old Dearborn resident from a game Sunday at Mies Park, Livonia police Lt. Tom Goralski said.
The referee was in critical condition at a hospital, authorities said.
It seems the perpetrator, Saad, wasn't at the field when police arrived, Goralski said. The lieutenant said Saad surrendered Monday.
